*Moscato
d'Asti DOC: Clarte
(Elio Perrone) |
 |
|
Sweet, bubbly and only 5% alcohol: a traditional Italian
pick-me-up. In the hands of a master such as
Perrone, Moscato can be crisp, refreshing and well
balanced. Drink very cold as an aperitif, or with
puddings. A wonderfully light way to start or
finish a meal. |

A lovely fresh sophisticated Prosecco with bright fruit
and a clean effervescence. Ideal for parties, this

final fling. |

*Prosecco Frizzante DOC
2007, Tappo Raso
(De Faveri) |
|
|
We have featured many
proseccos over the years from different makers in
different styles. Here is our attempt at a ‘one size
fits all’ version! Fresh, balanced effervescence with
apple and pear flavours which maintain their persistence
after several glasses. Excellent aperitif and can will
not objectto the bellini treatment. |

Bigaro
Rosato, 2006
(Elio Perrone) |
 |
|
A sensational blend of 50% Moscato and 50% Bracchetto
this wine is only made in small quantities but we have
managed to get hold of a few cases. Bracchetto
gives the pink and adds a berry complexity to the
already beguiling moscato grape flavours. Low
alcohol frizzante which is a wonderful summer dessert
wine. |

£102 per case (equiv £8.50 per bottle) |

Spumante Rosato Extra Dry
2004
(De Faveri) |
 |
|
A natural Spumante whose aromas and taste remind us of
the characteristics of the best Proseccos. The
small percentage of Raboso red grapes gives a nice round
aftertaste. |
|
£128.40 per case (equiv £10.70 per bottle) |
|

Caluso Spumante
Spumante IGT 2001 Gran Riserva
(Orsolani) |
|
|
Wouldn’t it be lovely if you could convert your
favourite white wine into a spumante. Well Orsolani has
been employing the classic champagne method for a few
years now with his Erbaluce grape and we thought we
would grab a few cases to help him in his ambition to
compete with the French. This is crisp and effervescent
with intense flavours of apple, grapefruit and banana. A
special treat which matches well with seafood and pasta. |
